Infiniment Möbius

Plywood | 78 x 33 x 13.5 cm

Step into a world where wood transforms into a symphony of shapes and emotions, where each piece tells a story of nature’s harmony and an artist’s dedication. Infinity has always been the main subject of my fear; the eternal question of whether life is infinite or finite remains both fascinating and daunting.

This striking sculpture pays homage to the Möbius ribbon, a famous mathematical concept known for its single continuous surface. In a captivating twist, this artwork artfully challenges this mathematical principle, comprising over one hundred faces, yet preserving the illusion of a seamless, one-sided loop.

While the sculpture’s form resembles an auspicious eight, a symbol of luck and prosperity in Chinese culture, it is the infinite nature of the piece that truly captivates. This work is a celebration of the infinite, an exploration of a never-ending journey. Crafted through an industrial process, it breathes life into the concept of a perpetual loop.

The Möbius ribbon, traditionally known for its paradoxical nature, is reborn in this art piece, challenging our perception and inviting us to ponder the limitless possibilities of form and concept. As it melds the mathematical with the artistic, this sculpture stands as a testament to the profound beauty that emerges from the union of science and art.
